For those of us who grew up in the '50s, the stories of the Depression that our mothers told us never fit with our post war understanding of how women lived in the '50s. I remember occassional discussions on TV about the Decency League and the requirement of double beds. I love "Baby Face" because it makes women people...nuanced people.
